Go Gunners!!

One of the best EPL saturdays that I have had in a long time had to be with the Gunners thrashing Everton 6-1 at Goodison Park. An absolute saturday delight for a gooner. Seems like the pommies who are writing off Arsenal this season as well are suddenly swinging their heads in denial. No wonder the chanting loyal Arsenal fans at Goodison Park and all over the world have still kept the faith in the team, but now the hopes are high as the team looks formidable to clinch some silverware this season.

Though the Toffees were way out of their league on the day with Lescott still in arabian dreams (that he looks desperate to join Manchester City), Everton are still a tough team to beat at home. The last  time they got such a pounding on home turf was way back in 1958 and incidentally it was Arsenal that time as well. Oh and yes not to mention the 4-1 whooping again by us in 2007. This time however, Everton were helpless and lacking firepower as Gallas, Fabregas, Denilson, Eduardo, Vermaelen sliced through their midfield and defensive back while the often clamorous coach David Moyes  looked speechless and humiliated. I pity David Moyes (respect him as a great coach) as Everton surprisingly played out of character on Sunday. But surely a stunning performance by Arsenal. Either ways its a good start for Arsenal and Arsene Wenger and a confidence booster for the forthcoming Celtic challenge in the Champions League playoffs. That match has got to be exciting as Celtics are quite a tough opponent for us.

Cesc Fabregas continues to remain the central force in the team. Song played really well and wish he maintains it in the future. Vermaelen seems to have blended with the team right on. Eduardo back after 18 months and finding the net soon means we are yet to see more of him, provided injuries don't ruin the show. Though Arshavin wasn't lucky to find the net, the Russian Captain looks dangerous, watch out for him. With most of our key players as Van Persie, William Gallas back in the team and Rosicky set to return soon I bet we are already a threat to those who fail to realize the potential and ability in us.

With the EPL season starting off on a positive note for us, it is time to cheer Arsenal all the way!! I wish and hope they keep the momentum going, and bring some Silverware this season for us. The 4 year drought ought to end this time as the loyal fans continue to keep the faith...Way to go Gunners, bring it on!!!
